Walking up, the outdoor patio smells like a urinal, I walked into the bar and sat down to order to go food. I was planning on having a drink while I waited but it took 10 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge me. (There was literally not a customer in the place besides my friend and I) Never came over to see if I wanted something, as she walked by I had to grab her attention for her to get that I wanted something. I barely finished my to go order before she walked off and never asked if I wanted a drink while I waited which, I did...I proceeded to watch her lazily polish glassware until my food came out 15 minutes later. Being a bartender myself I find this completely ridiculous...and for a dead lunch you would think they want any kind of revenue...food was good but the short haired brunette bartender is completely oblivious. Never had this problem when Mike Wallner and Jesse Camacho worked here. Probably won't be back if she's working the bar.

If I were to rate the customer service alone I'll give it one star but I enjoyed my steak. It's cooked to my wanting and the sides are great. The lack of warmth from the crew is just a big turn off.

Great food and good beers. Sat outside and loved it that you can smoke. Options to sit inside if you are not a smoker. Staff was pretty good.

Awesome service ! Food tasted good, but nothing special for the price. I ordered the drunken fish and chips, and it came with two VERY small pieces of fish on a mountain of fries for $13.50. Draft beer is not cheap outside of happy hour.

Great Happy Hour specials from 4-7. We had half off drinks and appetizers. The flatbread apps are very good. The atmosphere was nice and the crowd respectable and all ages. I will definitely be back for a date night.

Unusual menu with good food. Large but noisy outdoor area (music is really loud). Service is pleasant and efficient. Roughly half the menu seems to consist of either flat breads or sliders (they had a half dozen different sliders for example). Cost is a little high but not terribly expensive.

    (3)
  • Kevin K.

Ok bar. 40 beers. Sliders were dry. I'll com back but only because it has 40 beers. It has an outside area but only 20 beers are available.

Came here about 3 years ago for the $1 burgers and vowed never to return. Was told that since they cook such a large volume of burgers on that night, all the burgers are cooked well done (imagine eating a hockey puck but not quite as thick). Was invited here for a luncheon and had the burger which was very good. Was also told that they now cook your burgers to order on dollar burger night.

This location had good cocktails, it has been a long time since I've been there so I will not comment on the food because I only went there for cocktails. They had some kind of Sangria Special going on bartender recommended., we went ahead and gave it a try, it was very sour/sweet not sure what that was...then what was funny as the bartender was pouring our drinks she spilled everyhting, this girl was all over the place and had no clue how to pour drinks, she even said "i'm a mess, I'm sorry' I dont think she should even be a bartender...then we order a martini and asked her specifically for something not sweet she said ok gotcha!! came back with some syrup sweet made Martini...she was very friendly I just dont think she should be a bartender. Place was clean and bathrooms as well.

In from out of town looking for a place to catch the game and bar Louie did not disappoint. The draft beer selection is great they had my favorite summer time beer Sam Summer...yum!!!! They have plenty of TVs to catch the game including 3 big screens at the out side bar. I really love being able to have a cold one outside and being able to watch a game at the same time is priceless. It is a chain so I'm sure the food is OK, pretty much Bar Louie fare. I love the boneless wing and the trio dips and chips queso is really good. If in the area a great place to chill

Service was slow even though only 10 tables were occupied. Food was bland. Would not come again.

Good food and drinks. The smores martini was awesome. Our server did great with a party of 8. I would recommend going here.

Been here a couple times for the tuesday night burger special. Lots of topping choices and very inexpensive. Like that they have a chicken burger option as well. But where they really shine is the sangria..come and share a pitcher with a friend, it is amazing!! Price-wise it doesn't really make sense to have a glass, so just get the pitcher!

Great food, very cold beer, friendly staff. Fridays are the best night. Fast service. Happy hour 4-7. They don't have enough staff on Sunday afternoon, service is a little slow. But that still won't stop me from going in.

While visiting Fort Myers from Fort Lauderdale, my friends and I chose Bar Louie as our dinner destination over the surrounding Olive Garden, Carabas, Outback, etc. because we wanted to try something new. Good decision? Eh, the verdict's still out. When my group of seven arrived on a Saturday night a tad before 6pm, the place was empty minus a few occupied tables and were told to told sit anywhere we wanted. My eye was immediately drawn to the bar where a plethora of beer taps was on display. Nice! Unfortunately when I got down to looking at the menu, there was nothing that great; there was a big selection, but nothing out of the ordinary. The martinis on the other hand did look pretty good and they had some yummy looking libations BUT no prices. I absolutely hate hate hate when a menu doesn't have prices, I think that is tricky and their way of overcharging for drinks. We ended up getting a pitcher of red Sangria which was $18 (had to ask for the price while ordering). The rest of the food menu is pretty standard with burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc which is fairly priced. I ordered a California Chicken Sandwich which was a chicken breast, avocado, tomato, bacon and cheese, served with fries which, if I remember correctly, was around 10$ The food took a fairly long time to get to our table, and seeing as the place was nearly dead, it was hard not to hold this against them. Plus, no one got anything more than a salad or a sandwich, so the 30+minues we waited was just too long. When the food came out, I have to say that the menu seemed to read better than how the food was presented in person. My sandwich was decent but nothing knock-out and I really didn't care for the fries that much. And this is coming from someone who LOVES french fries. See my yelp profile where it asks what my last meal on earth would be? Yeah, fries. I hardly ever come across one I don't like, but these had some odd spice to it, creole seasoning I suspected. My friend Cheetah Jen said her mac n' cheese was cold and had to send it back to be heated up. When it returned, it was definitely stirred or moved around which she was not a fan of, and I don't blame her! With all the horror stories out there, you've got to be careful! I don't think our waitress did anything to her food though, albeit she was a tad slow, she was still nice and pleasant enough. Would I come back here for the food? No, probably not. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't anything that was bringing me back. The service wasn't stellar and the atmosphere wasn't anything super swanky or fun to make me want to revist. So all in all, it's a pretty average place all around. P.S. I hear they have $1 burger Tuesday... but everything is al a carte. ie: 50 cents for lettuce, a dollar for cheese, etc etc. Still a great deal though. I can only imagine how crazy they get on those nights.

Food was good, service was decent, and place was clean. Only 2 issues are that it is in far corner of Gulf Coast Town Center and the prices are a tad bit high. I would recommend, though, for lunch.

Ok pub food but the bar was very dirty, it smelled like old beers from the night before and the floor was sticky. not nice.

  • Carrie C.

I've dined here several times over the last few years and their food always seems to be just okay. I had a pear/blue cheese salad with chicken on this visit and it was probably the best meal I've had from there. I normally have gone here in the past because someone else picked it to eat and meet there for girls night out etc. This wouldn't be one of my favorite restaurant choices.

Bar Louie is a great, upscale restaurant/bar chain with quite an impressive beer list -- about 40 on draft, with a good mix of domestic craft, import, and domestic mass-market beer. The menu is a gourmet take on "bar food," with lots of burgers and pizza in evidence. My fiancee and I went there for lunch, and discovered the best thing about the place; $5 lunch specials. Either soup and sandwich/salad, or a rotating array of daily specials, which included sliders, which we ordered. We expected our servings to be a bit on the small side, so we ordered three for the two of us, but were quite pleasantly surprised to find that they were in fact rather large. Twelve mini-burgers between the two of us, and it was an effort to finish them! I'll be back.

This place is good if your main goal is to hang out and/or drink. You can get some food, but if you're looking for a nice meal, I'd go somewhere else. Their margarita was very good and the California Club Sandwich was pretty good too (the piece of grilled chicken on there was awesome), but they did not have a large selection of food. Our waitress, Brittany, was very friendly.

I was in Ft. Myers for a meeting and before heading back to the 305, we stopped by to get a drink. The bar big with friendly staff and and a great selection of beers. I don't know what else you could ask for. The had great prices for HH and it was very close to hotels, the expressway and other restaurants.

    (4)
  • Eric E.

Great place to watch a game and good HH deals. This time though, the service was less than stellar. We wanted to watch the game at the outside bar and felt like we were inconveniencing the staff. We waited about 15 min for someone to finally. Come out to serve us. He was not very friendly either.

  • Libby F.

The only thing decent on the menu are the tater-tots. Unless you go there on burger night its just not worth it. Greasy and poor quality.

  • John T.

Great bar, very good bar food!!! Tater tots!

  • L A.

Great hangout place with an excellent variety of beer. 40 beers on tap is all you can ask for. The menu isn't bad, more of an upscale bar menu. The crowd is usually good as are the barkeeps. I avoid it at late night because FGCU is around the corner and it becomes amateur hour once the kiddies arrive. 2 things that can be improved upon are to use iced cold glasses because nothing beats trying all the types of beer with a frosty mug. And lastly, with the beer menu they have, they should slap anyone who orders a Bud or Miller.

    (4)
  • Yoanna J.

a lot of TV's you will def not miss a game. Seat yourself. Waitstaff great. They have every Beer on Tap. And I love the Tuesdays especially on a budget they have $1 burgers and 50cent fries. where else can a family of 4 eat and drink for less than $25. Food is great especially the appitizers. The Burgers are huge. There Kitchen is open until 2am and they stay open late full of fun. Happy Eating

  • Rick N.

Dishonest waitstaff. Came here about 9pm on a Thursday night with some family. We decided to stay awhile and have some drinks, which is fine if the waiter wouldn't have charged us for his mistakes. He brought the wrong beer, and we still got charged for it. Ordered two shots and got charged for four. And when it came time to pay he was no where to be found. Not to mention, the music is too loud and the menu overpriced. We will probably reluctantly come here again because there arn't many late night spots at Gulf Coast Mall.

bad beer selection, loud annoying people and loud annoying music. at least the one time i went..

We went for $1 burgers. 6 oz med well burger with lettuce & bun. Any extras 50 cents to $1 extra Some drinks 1/2 price too Wait staff was great, great sports bar. Place was crowded, especially for off season. Large menu

This is a message to Bar Louie Corporate staff. Your bar at the gulf Coast Towncemter location needs to turn the thermostat down a few degrees. Also lock all sliders so that the doors don't open up. This is Southwest Florida. The humidity averages about 95 to 100% most of the year. Please keep this in mind. If it were comfortable in the bar, I would have spent more. This advice has been given free of charge. I've been experiencing this discomfort for the past three months, therefore there is no way that this was due to an equipment failure. If this issue gets corrected, I will then not only be a Loyal client but will bring my business clients to your establishment. I hope this helps. Food is great. Beer selection great. Environment not so much.

Okay, the two stars are for the happy hour prices. Two 20 oz craft beers for 6.86!!! Can't beat that anywhere....what you CAN beat is the service. 9 people in the whole place. Bartender is too busy cleaning glasses to wait on people. He threw a beer in front of us and disappeared. I like an orange in my beer but couldn't get his attention at the other side and long end of the bar. By the time he came back, he got the orange and then left so quickly I couldn't even ask about the menu. If I managed this place I would train that employee. He should be TRYING to sell more, that's how the business and the tippees make money! So we went elsewhere to eat.

Once was enough - slow rotten service and the food SUCKED! Busy place till 1/2 price happy hr ended at 7 then it was like staff took their break at once. topped off by what can only be described as STINK from the bar/service area - difficult to imagine anything that could get me back in this dump.

Great bar! My flight got canceled going home to DC, and decided to come here because it is open later then most bars in the area. For a Tuesday night it was actually busy!! Service is good, they have a great beer selection, and bartenders are really friendly!! Definitely recommend!

  • David G.

Hit or miss kind of place. Chain but less obvious than most, except for the fact that they keep popping up everywhere. Like most chains, the menu looks and reads much better than what actually arrives to the table. Fortunately, they have a strong beer selection to aid in the short-term memory loss.

I was recently here on late in the evening on a Tuesday night with the goal of catching some late night west coast Playoff Hockey. There's a couple things I did not realize about Tuesday nights around here. First, Tuesday nights is Dollar Burger night, and next, every 21 year old for miles flocks to this place on a Tuesday, with a DJ spinning. I enjoyed the latest in pop tunes, and they satisfied my needs with their plethora of TV screens. Nice beer selection too. Tough to screw up beer though! My cheap burger totally sucked. Well overcooked, but what did I expect for a dollar? I would have happily paid more for something good, but I should note, they've done better work when they charge full price, but I'll pass on future $1 nights. The level of service always varies when I'm here. Sometimes you get a good server, and sometimes you don't. Sometimes food comes in a timely manner, and sometime you wait long periods of time for the food even when it appears dead inside. After reading my draft here, I'm starting to wonder why I keep going back.

The bathrooms are nice. You don't need to touch a door after washing your hands. The retro decor is stylish. You seat your self, wherever. Service was unbelievably slow. There were only a handful of people, and still a beer and a wine took several minutes. They must have held my calamari until my husbsnds sliders were ready, because they were cooland toughening. Something deep fried ahoud be hot. It was hard to get a second drink. We then asked for our check. A few minutes later she asked if we wanted anything else. We said no just the check. When I finally set my empty glass in the middle of the table, she asked if we would like our check now The location is a little out of the way and parking is odd on that side of the mall. Prices run a dollar or two above other similar restaurants in the area. There is nothing on the menu that you couldn't get better, hotter and cheaper somewhere else. The first beer we tried to order was out. There is no happy hour, which is unheard of in southwest Florida..

I am new to the fort myers area and had Bar Louie suggested to me as a great place to go to have a small late night celebration for my birthday with a couple of friends. We walked in about 10:30 on this past Monday night. The restaurant atmosphere seemed really nice, it was clean, and there where a million choices for beer on tap...we were excited! There were maybe 3 tables in the whole restaurant with at least 4 bartenders/servers. My boyfriend walked up to a bartender and politely tried to asked what time they closed just to be sure we were correct in our information of them closing at 2 am. He got completely ignored when he asked. He stood there until the bartender finally broke conversation with another employee to acknowledge him. He asked again and she gave a short rude answer of "2 am" and then proceed back to what she was doing. We took a high top table right by the bar and then proceeded to wait...and wait...and wait...for atleast 5 minutes. Then we thought maybe it was more of an "order at the bar thing" so he walked back up to the bar and asked the bartender if needed to order there. She said she no and she would send someone over to our table. It still took another minute for anyone to come to our table and greet us. In that minute we all decided Bar Louie was not worth feeling like a burden to these employees that seemed more concerned with taking shots and socializing than with customer service. Too bad, because I too work in the restaurant industry along with my friends and we always make it worth our server's time. We instead walked right down the street to Miller's Ale House where a bubbly and fast bartender gave us great drinks and the food great too!

Just came here for drinks. Bartender was slow and unenthusiastic. After a beer we had shots, and it was the weakest "liquid cocaine" I've ever had. Not impressed. Decent atmosphere, though.

You can bring your dog if you sit outside, and will even provide your pooch with water and some bacon. The music isn't insanely loud, nor will it make you feel like an overgrown teenybopper. The service is quick and doesn't act as though they hate their job. *this rating is for the daytime*

This past week, the diggler took a trip across the glades for work and whenever I'm in a new place, I'm always on the lookout for new good beer places / new beer...here was my experience at Bar Louie: Server: Hi there, I have a whole bunch of bud light that I'd like to sell you, and you can even buy it by the bucket!!!! Me: Ummmmm...I dont like bud light Server: Well, how about michelob, coors, other blah blah blah big name brewer that is only $5 for a big bucket of the stuff Me: Really no that's ok...Oh you have Cigar City Brewery...Can I get that please? Server: You know, we forgot to take that tap down, we're out and wont get it back again because no one asks for it. Me: Well that sucks :( I ordered up a Dales Pale Ale and watched the soccer highlights from the days games. And then....oh my....and then...the place errupted into kareoke night. I'm all for kareoke, but for some reason this one dude thought he had the chops to bust out some "dirty white boy" It was pretty annoying and ended up leaving after my one beer.

I have been going to Bar Louie since they opened and the service continues to deteriorate. I remember the good days when you did not have to wait for an hour for your food or 20 minutes for a drink. Where the servers and wait staff took pride in their jobs and were concerned about providing great service. I don;t know if I will be giving this place another chance anytime soon. Great food and service is the foundation to a successful restaurant.

I liked how there were lots of different seating options, high tables, the bar, regular tables, an outdoor bar as well as seating outside both such that you wouldn't get wet if it were to rain. Their fried shrimp po' boy is pretty good, not as good as something from New Orleans but a decent substitute. Their long island tea though was 8.50. I wasn't expecting that when I ordered it. Nor did I expect them to add what I'm guessing was lemonade to my drink. In the future I may just order alcohol at happy hour.

One way or another I ended up in Fort Myers for a week and I really don't want to talk about that trip. I will, however, talk about how great this place was when my flight got canceled and I needed somewhere to go to drown in alcohol since I couldn't get away from a certain person I was with until I was behind the security gate at Fort Myers Airport. Luckily I had another friend that lives in Fort Myers, so I met up with her and her boyfriend here. She's loud, crazy and fun and this is so the perfect place for that type of personality. The bartender gave us free shots and he was fun to talk to for a while. Granted it was very early in the day, probably closer to noon, so he wasn't too busy with other people anyway. I will say though, out of all the millions of Bloody Mary's I've had in my life, the best one has been from this place. Normally when I ask for a bar tender to make it spicy with no horseradish, I still get horseradish and not tobasco. This guy gave me lots of good vodka. Probably because I told him the person I was with was driving me crazy and he felt bad for me. He also loaded up on the tobasco like I asked. That was a much, much needed bloody mary. I ordered some fried zucchini with their three dips. All in all, not so bad. I mean, it's fried. Everything tastes good fried. Plus when I'm having lots of booze I want greasy stuff. That's just how it works. I was only here a couple of hours, but I had a good time, despite the idiot to my right that I ignored the whole time. When I come back to Ft. Myers to visit my girlfriend, I'll come back just for that same Bloody Mary.
